Welcome To Tracy PD
The Tracy Police Department provides law enforcement services for the City of Tracy, California. With a population of approximately 98,000, Tracy is a railroad town located in San Joaquin County.
108 sworn officers and 63 professional staff members make up the brave men and women who have taken the oath to protect and serve the residents, business owners, and visitors of Tracy. They are committed to providing the finest law enforcement services while upholding the values of the department; Service, Integrity, and Excellence.
The City of Tracy is located inside a geographic triangle formed by Interstate 205 on the north side of the city, Interstate 5 to the east, and Interstate 580 to the southwest; this has given rise to Tracy’s motto, now recorded on the city’s website: “Think Inside the Triangle”. Tracy is a growing community near the San Francisco Bay Area and Silicon Valley.
While Tracy is the second most populated city in San Joaquin County, the town is very much a big city with small-town feel with a quaint downtown. We still hold homecoming parades downtown for every high school, and the City Council is very responsive to the needs of its residents. Their intent is to provide the Tracy community with basic and extended services that offer opportunities for individuals, families, and businesses to prosper as they live, work, and play in Tracy.
The makeup of the town is complex, comprised of long-time farming families, those who have migrated from the Bay Area to find affordable housing, born and raised residents, business owners, young entrepreneurs, and retirees.

Chief Sekou Millington
Chief Sekou Millington is the 29th chief of police for the city of Tracy.
Chief Millington has demonstrated his ownership of the mission to provide the Tracy Community with the police service they deserve, and more. His career highlights the fact that he is dedicated to serve and has earned his place as a leader both in the department and in the community.
With two decades as a police officer, Chief Millington began his career at the Oakland Police Department, where he worked numerous special assignments and rose through the ranks to serve in key leadership positions.
